    I know its a h22 mount thread

Ok well i cant seem to find this specific answer.

ive read you can use (and everybody does) the accord motor and tranny mount for the h22 swap but can you use the prelude mounts.

im curious because my mounts especialy the front (torque) mount is shot and im getting a h22 with (prelude) mounts, ecu, and harness for 600 bux and dont wanna wast money on new accord mounts if i can use these.

THanks in advance for any help

Only way your going to use that front prelude mount is if you import a Carborated (F18A) Accord's front crossmember, it has the bolt holes.
Your current front crossmember is designed for a weaker dogbone type mount. It has no bolt holes in it.

    Does that work?
You can use the ludes nice rear mount.

Or do away with the crappy rubber mounts and get Polys
ESP makes a GREAT kit, you dont need a front mount with their kit.

First off, what ever rear mount you use, needs the matching brace on the engine.

i.e. if you keep the prelude rear brace, use the prelude rear mount (much smaller but stiffer)

if you keep your accord rear mount (larger = more urathane if you choose to fill it) you need the rear bracket off your accord engine.

if you want to fill the mount quickly with polyurathane avaliable at local stores, go into your autoparts store and ask for 3M or permatex windoweld, it comes in a white culking tube. i think it takes like 48hours to set up, so do it right away so they are ready when you swap the engine.

^CB's did not all have tall hydraulic rear mounts. 5 spd preludes came w/ the CB dx/lx 5 spd style rear mount, all metal/rubber, very short, uses the short rear mount bracket. CB auto and ex 5spd use the tall mount bracket since those hydraulic mounts are very tall. So, it does depend on which rear mount and mount bracket that you use. I have seen afew window-welded mounts before in person, I would suggest urethane from mcmaster-carr, you can choose which durometer you'd want, but that's just me.

Ah, that makes sense. So its even more complicated than just cb7 vs prelude.

I had the ex tall mount, although non hydrulic, funny thing is the dx/lx short mount is stiffer than the ex tall one.

^yeah, rear mounts are alittle involved, def. depends on trim and tranny. Actually, the EX 5spd mount you speak of oil filled. The DX/LX 5spd mount is the best rear mount there is, easiest to change out, all rubber, ready for urethane, even stock they're way stiffer than the oil/hydraulic mounts.
