    JDM f22a HP / TRQ?

What is the power rating on F22a JDM engines? I've got one from Japan Direct in Raliegh North Carolina and it is very clean and looks like it will work out well.

Does it have dual runners on the intake?

    Thanks! Daniel Cameron

run a search bro. there are like abillion threads about the f22 jdm and usdm. there aren't that many differeces between the two though i think. just a regular f22a1 made in japan...

      here ya go

      all the info you need

F22 (JDM) twincam and USDM H23A1---4th gen prelude

      2156cc (f22) and 2258cc (h23a1)
      160hp/6000rpm and 160hp/5800rpm
      148tq/5000rpm and 156tq/5300rpm
      6500rpm and 6500rpm redlines
      9.2:1 and 9.8:1 compression ratio
      85.0mm bore x 95.0mm stroke and 87.0mm bore x 95.0mm stroke
      closed deck and no LSD

These are very similar motors and cheap alternatives to h22a's, yet still have serious potential, especially where turbos are concerned. The f22 is less common, but not hard to locate. The h23a1 is a USDM motor and is relatively easy to find too, especially when someone has swapped an h22a in place of it. Both are torquey as far as inline 4 hondas are concerned and make good useable power lower in the powerband. I'm not sure about the f22, but the h23 block will accept the h22 vtec head with some work and is similar to an ls/vtec setup.

PROS: good torque, easy to find, easy to install, accept boost better than a comparable h22a on stock internals

CONS: less power in the higher rpm, not equipped with VTEC (although one can be made to work)

theres a dohc f22a1 in japan?? I don't think any jdm honda motors come with a 8.8:1 compression. It's all higher then that

the f20a is a usdm dohc non vtec engine from a prelude. The only other f22 I can think of that come out of japan is the f22B. They might have an f22a in a prelude over there, but i don't think so.

hey man... i've got the jdm f22a and it seems like noone really knows what they're saying... this is what i've compiled trying to find out information about them...

they're identical to the usdm f22a's, but in japan, they didn't specify which engine it actually was, aka a1, a4 or a6. You're going to need to take a look at the intake and exaust manifold on the engine to determine which one it is. if it's got a single runner intake and a 4-1 style header then it's the same as an f22a1... if it's got a single runner intake and a 4-2-1 exaust, then its the same as the f22a4. if it's got the dual runner, it's an f22a6. I happend to get an f22a6, and suposedly that's the most common

I do know what I am talking about, except I have never heard if a sohc f22a engine in japan. If what your saying is right, that engine sounds like a waste of time.

the F20A DOHC is a 2.0L motor that has 150HP and 137tq. It is a JDM motor out of a cb3 chassis AKA 2.0SI accord. Midnite, zigen, me, alexex, and accordexr33 have them. They ARE NOT from a prelude

I thought the 3rd gen prelude had a f20a also...
