Screwed :(
Found out today my motor to rebuild the bottom end would be 1,300 - 1,400 dollars, the shop raises there quote... Wasted a lot of time but i only spent 250$$ on the whole engine. I can sell the head for more that so that makes me happy. I also found a complete jdm h22a1 with tranny for 1,100 in my area (running). 
The weird thing is i think the asshole that didnt want to "take it apart" and see whats wrong with it did. There were bolts missing from inside the engine on that thing thats over the crank. And random shit missing so he got a good deal i guess...
