i'm not talking about tranny oil. i'm talking about that little box looking thing were the shift cables connect to. i was wondering how to check how much oil is in it? which one to use? which one is best? someone told me to just throw some gear oil in there. but i'm not to familiar with hydraulic trannies and i don't want to mess my tranny up.

I think you may be alittle confused. First of all, your transmission is hydraulic, the clutch that is, opposed to a cable actuated clutch like on the 90-93 Integra for example. That's what makes the transmission "hydraulic". Refer to your owner's manual for checking/draining/filling and do not use just any gear oil either!

It takes brake fluid...We have a hydraulic clutch but use cables for the shifter to engage gears. Not a hydraulic linkage. ONly thing those need is grease if you want. But hydraulic wise it should be a small reservoir next to the brake master cylinder. Just fill it up with DOT3 or 4 and it works just fine.
