    clutch dampener

i was reading that u could bypass the dampener on the cluth lines i was wondering what kind of effect this may have on the clutch i am doing a 5 speed swap and i would be easier to just bypass this and put a ss line in from the cylander to the slave here is the link http://accordinglydone.com/forum/sho...ht=5speed+swap

so thats where the line goes.......

i've never put a manual car together and couldnt figure out what line goes to the slave and also that pipe that does a weird "S" then goes into a rubber line, then where that goes???

i know what you are talking about but i have no clue what the clutch dampener is.

I believe that would work, just make sure none of your lines leak. theres a good debate on Hardlines vs SS lines.

its the thing that has the hardline going into it and has a rubber line connecting two cylander things together then goes to the slave

I tried to rip the damper out of my parts prelude to swap into my good prelude when I did the 5 speed swap. It was rusted in so I made my own lines. Comparing my clutch pedal with my custom lines (SS flex from MC to slave) to a factory 5 speed car, there is little to no difference in pedal feel, effort, or response.

In short, you don't need one.

Thats just so that when you dump the clutch hard it doesn't apply 100% right away and just kinda limits how fast the clutch can engadge. Its good for learning how to drive a stick but wouldn't need to be bypassed. It wouldn't really help you out much.
