the next episode ur right, even with no hood and engine temps will always be the same because of the thermostat

i did this diy on 06 but used fuel hose as a bushing

this has always been a controversial thread on every forum (especially on turbo cars) its like the CAI vs short rams

        its ur choice

on my last accord i did this DO IT YOURSELF (not mod)
lookd cool some of my components were lower in TEMP but the engine stayed the same, 4 months before i sold the car i took them out, because i would take the paint of the hood everytime i buff the car

06 civic with ebay CAI beat 06 civic AEM CAI BADDD

my opinion is stop bashing on the guy so u can feel important
i bet $60 that if CPMIKE, DEEVER, HONDAFAN or some important member here posted it, this thread would had turnout A LOT different

No one here is trying to feel important, we are pointing out the flaws and that's how this site works.

I would have said the exact same things I said to him no matter who posted...I still hold to my view as it has yet to be proven wrong.

We aren't all scared little kids who live in fear of the mods/admins wrath, if you make a statement or claim such as in this thread then prove your point...that is what will be asked of you whether you are the site admin or highly respected mod or someone new to the site. I don't care who you are, prove it or lose it, and don't whine when you can't prove it and you're called on that.

But this has all been discussed already...I'm not saying don't share your likeing of this diy...just don't stir up stuff that's already been addressed

yeah i think this is only worth while for turbo cars. it's why turbo cars have hood scoups or hood vents, and those cars need more air volume. oh and plus, don't you think a mostly stock car like most of us just really need to remove the resonator for their air intakes to get sufficient air?

it's like the intake tornado, if it's so cheap and easy, why doesn't every car in the world have it?

if you want to be a top-secret ricer, just remove the rainguards under the windshield to let air out.

oh if you were going to test this, don't test engine bay temps, but test engine intake temps at various speeds, street and highway. i'm a science major, and if you prove this i'm convinced.

the tornado is snake oil, proven to actually decrease performance. And this isn't why turbo cars have hood scoops...and ricer is usually seen as an insult term to import tuners.

I think all the opinions about this that can be said have been said already...it would really be best to leave posts to improving the current design or on alternative setups...or pics of your ride with this setup.

This thread is soap opera material for sure. However i doubt there's any performance gains but it sure looks good. My buddy did it on his ae86 and left the front ones without bushings. It puts a nice slant on the hood. Idk i like it
