          I tried to take the original shift knob off but I cannot pull it up and out. I think there's a cable that stuck to it some how. Did you just lift your knob off or did you have to disconnect the cable first?

            Take the screw out... The button is spring loaded.. I had no problem taking mine off.

              What year is your car? Mine is the 90 LX sedan and it has that sport button and I think the cable is connect to it which is in the knob. But I don't know how to disconnect the sport cable to remove the knob.
