So... If your like me your carpet is in bad shape. The cheapest thing i could think of was to dye it.
things needed:
1. RIT Dye(found in the detergent isle at walmart)
powder form is (1.60) and liquid form (2.40)
2. 2 12oz packages of iodized salt
3. kiddie pool /or a 30 gallon container
(kiddie pool is like $10)
use the kiddie pool so you can spread the carpet out
I used the powder form and bought 12 boxes and 3 liquid form
(note:the more you try to dye the more RIT Dye you have to use.)
First Step: Remove Carpet & Take Sound Deadening Matterial Off under the carpet
(note: this is not my carpet its mathony carpet)
Second Step: Power Wash Carpet At Local Carwash &&Let It Dry

Third Step: Boil Water And Throw The Dye &&Salt in the Container/or kiddie pool
Fourth Step: Throw Carpet In &&Let It Chill
[I used my old drum setup to Weight Down The Carpet]
I Let It Sit In The Mix For 4 to 5 Days Because I Didnt Boil The Water to much
Fifth Step: Pull Carpet Out Of Mix And Rinse Off With Hose Untill Water Is Clear
[After It Dried]

and Trunk
and finish
I Will Be Updating This Thread To Report The Longevity. I Foresee No Problems As The Material Itself Is Dyed As Opposed To Rattle Canned
I spent about $20 as i found $5 in quarters under my carpet. that beats the hell out of a bad fitting ebay carpet in my books anyday
