yeah the seatbelts are a problem for me as well. the tight weave makes them real hard to clean.

caution on what ever you use on the seatbelts because some chemicals can weaken fabrics, which can be a real saftey issue to say the least.

i think baby magic is a neutral soap, so maybe that would work. later.

Great diy. Good to know you can just use normal household cleaners. Could you tell me what type of products they are? Is the liquid tide a carpet cleaner?

Cam, tide is normally used as laundry detergent. it makes an excellent carpet cleaner as well due to it's stain dissolving characteristics.

the simple green is a common automotive degreaser. it's pretty safe for use on most anything except chrome and polished aluminum. it tends to discolor those things. later.

Good DIY man, I detail cars and I must say your car is clean! Upholstry cleaning can be a real pain sometimes, one thing I do is take a carpet brush like those and wrap a portion of the towel over it and scrub, that works great also. Do you now if oxy clean would work also? I bought some of the stuff and have yet to try it on my carpets. I'm hoping to get the coffee stains out, if it doesn't work I'll have to try the tide trick. I bet it smells nice too.

just used this method on the new se , worked awesome man , there were rust stains and spills on the carpet and the panels were pretty dirty , came out mint

yeah, i know what you mean with those. i am going to try oxi-clean on those and see what happens. but i'll be sure to read the label as i don't want to use anything that will weaken the fabric. also, someone mentioned using wool-lite...that may work too. i have never really tried to clean mine, but i really need to. later.

Just take it to the Honda Dealer and have them replace the seat belts for free. Lifetime warranty.


Also to add to this thread, it doesn't so much matter as to how you 'comb' the carpet because if you vacuum it after, it makes it look minty. Just did this only I used Woolite carpet cleaner. Works great
