they look very nice and true but it doesnt look like you penatrated the metal enough....they look very high -

They penetrated just fine. You can tell by the hue on the edges of it. They look great. Just at the end when you end your bead, swipe back so you dont leave that flat spot in the end.

get some more scrap and put like 100% bevel on both sides \/. Like that. Then run some stringers
first weld- Right in the middle
second weld- Just on one side of the first enough to leave room for a third on the other plate.
third weld- descibed above
fourth weld- cap off those welds with a weave that covers the others that just barely over laps on top of the plates.
This will be one of the strongest welds you can make. some people disagree with weaving but the stringers underneath it will still be hot and will let that metal melt easier and in conjuction create better pen. PEACEComment
