    My Swap Pics

I just finished this H22 swap yesturday and would like to thank the contributors on this site for all the great knowledge they have shared. Also thanks to blackcb7 and timmy0tool for the questions they answered for me.

After I prepped the H22 to go in, the swap took me 7 days to complete, working about 8 hours each day. I used some vacation time to do it. I did the swap in San Diego which is just over 100 miles away from me. It was the only place with a driveway that I could use. The swap was finished just in time on the Sunday evening before I had to go work on Monday, 100 miles away. Talk about cutting it close. I drove back home really slow on the freeway, hoping no gremlins would pop outta nowhere, and thankfully they didn't.

This is an HMOTORSONLINE engine, produced 10/94 JDM H22 with M2B4 tranny.
So far I have not had any CEL's or issues of significance. The engine runs perfectly. I checked the ignition timming today and it was right on the dot.

Peace! That was painted on the garage door during the Vietnam war, there is a large dove also, but it has faded.

Here is my subharness for the VTEC stuff (it wasn't quite finished yet). I also included wiring for the FPR solenoid which came with this engine. I followed the swap FAQ for the most part.

I opened all the F22 factory wiring loom on this side and pulled the O2 and Temp sensor wiring back so that I wouldn't have to extend the wiring, just like the swap FAQ said. It loosened up the wiring so that even the distributor plugs fit on their metal clips perfectly.

I reused my stock intake. We had to remove the metal air/water tube, heat and bend it to fit the intake.

We had to drill 2 new holes in the throttle cable bracket. The throttle cable was so short so that the throttle would not close all the way, even when fully adjusted back. I don't remember reading anything anywhere about this happening. Maybe I missed it.

The header (Greddy) comes to close to the front mount. We had to grind down the mount's bolt and nut for clearance. We used thread lock compound. I really hope it doesn't come loose!

Oh yeah, the nuts on the front side of the CAT had shrunk from heat so that a 14mm socket no longer worked. We had to cut the bolts off and use new ones.
I chose to use the H22 egr valve and oil pressure sensor since they are newer, and it is always easy to solder the wire to the different plugs.
And another thing. The F22 O2 sensor plug on the engine side is male, but the H22 sensor is also male. So we had to change that plug as well! Yet another thing I don't remember reading anywhere.

A/C, power steering, and cruise control all works.

    Comments and questions welcome!

It would really look stock with a heat shield! Now that the header looks like crap I may look into that. Not that I want it to look stock but I gotta get her BAR'd.

nice swap! 8 days to install though? be careful with the f22 ps pump and bracket, on a hard launch it will hit your hood and ding it. Looks good.

clean ass swap, question, you have to shim the hole for the pump bracket?
if you got something smart to say, guess what, i dont care.

If you use the F22 one you do. Its better to use the H22 bracket but you gotta weld or braze the high pressure line to make it work....or maybe use the entire H22 line if that is possible.

Yeah I took my time and didn't rush anything until the last couple days when I feared I was running out of time. Plus I am no mechanic, just a hobbyist
As far as the hood clearance, most everyone I hear who has done this doesn't have that problem if the pipe is hammered and bent lower
