Today I started to fix my fuel guage. While doing so, I fixed 3 different issues.

First, after troubleshooting the fuel guage, I decided it was a faulty guage. So I removed the one from the parts car. Had to some cleaning and swapped a bulb and removed the blue covers from the bulbs and put back in the cluster.

Second, I did a trial fit with the instrument cluster and I confirmed my thoughts that the d4 bulb was burned out in my old one. So, I got that fixed.

Third- while removing my cluster, found that the 4 mounting screws in the cluster were missing. This was causing a slight vibration at idle. So, got that fixed.

As normal, upon making these repairs I found a couple other small issues to work on the next few weeks. 1. A/C bulbs. 2. Ashtray bulb.

Wow. I am letting my sixteen year old daughter drive my car right now. Brave, crazy not sure which. But hey, she is actually a pretty good driver. Just a little nervous.

Also, got a line on a 91 lx. Started out as looking at a ad for a used hood. Will know more in the morning.

Today I went to pull a part and found a right fender for my car and a rear fin for my daughters 90 lx . After getting home, I scuffed the fender down and shot some black paint on it and mounted it on the car.

I have been having some issues with my front windows being very slow rolling up and down even to the point that the drivers side gets all crooked and almost off track. After doing research on here, it seemed the rubber gaskets in the window track was the problem. So i rubbed vaseline in the track as much as possible. It has helped a lot. This weekend i will try to take off the door panels and put more in the lower part of the track inside the door.

The brake issue is much better now. I have been working a lot of hours and other things going on. So the progress is very slow but kinda steady.

Today I bled the air from the brakes. In the process, of the doing a routine inspection looking over everything, I also found the left front wheel had two lug nuts loose. Evidently, I didn't re check all the lug while replacing the brake pads. I just got lucky and found it but this why its important to do safety inspections often.

Yesterday replaced front brake pads. I discovered the right side caliper was beginning to stick. The pads were under warranty. After putting them on, found the caliper issue so swapped one from the parts car. Much better but the brakes need bleeding. That's for tomorrow.

    Thanks for the kind words.

Last night, i reset the timing so it would run correctly. ( I had the timing retarded a bunch so it would pass marta easily). Also, i finished putting the receiver in the towing hitch. So I can tow my small trailer now also. Making some progress.

    Thanks a lot.

The next steps will be a front end alignment, rotate and balance tires. And then i want to at least paint the roof and passenger side. We will see. Many projects going on with overtime at work and home stuff.

Today I took the car to emissions testing and it passed. It seems it had a cracked exhaust manifold was part of the issue and then after swapping the exhaust from the parts car, the catalytic converter was bad after paying $130.00 for it to be analyzed and "tuned". Swapped back to the original cat, retarded the timing a bunch and it passed. HC was down to 78. Funny thing is, today the testing person didn't have me take it up to a high idle before checking it. She just put the probe in the tailpipe and ran the test. Not sure what that was about. All the other times, the testing personnel ask to take it to 2500 rpms and take readings before and after. Oh well, it passed anyway.
