It runs OK. But, it burns oil.
I'm using 3 psi oil pressure switch since 7psi switch was flashing the warning light when hot. Spec calls for 10 psi at idle. It's time for this engine to retire.

The new one was going to be quick rebuild. It's not going that way for now, considering 86mm pistons and associated parts and machine work.
The oil pump didn't check out good. It was just under the service limit on "body to rotor" radial clearance. So, new one is on order.

Little by little, adding cost to it.

I had to do some research just to know what you were talking about, lol.
But it will still be cheaper than a new car or engine i think, and the fact that you built it up yourself removes some uncertainty. Plus it will have better performance than the average car out there.

I got a set of used K20A3 pistons. I think I'll use them on the next build.
Didn't take before pics. But, they were dirty with carbon build up and such. Now, they are being cleaned effortlessly. Zep solution took some off. Berryman to finish off.

I think I give a little more soaking time on this one.

I would like to see it done
I never did ask if this was an F22 block

Yeah, I need to finish this build by the end of July so I can install it while my family is away to Japan.

              It's an F22A1 block.

Yes. That Bisi header is a good dust collector.

                Cool, thats quick.
                Good for the fam

If that header was fixable, matched with the oversized block, Im thinking that would be some serious power.

Oil pump, Pistons, Cylinder head, Rockers

So, there was delivery of oil pump and pistons today.

Checked clearances and they are within "new" spec. Online purchase saved me $100 compared to local parts store.

Got these from Jarrett, thank you. They are F23 pistons and are in Berryman now, being cleaned.

Also, started doing something to cylinder head.

This photo is "before" shot. Rockers and rocker shafts are cleaned, now and ready to assemble. But, I am contemplating on getting new exhaust rocker shaft due to galling on one spot..... Now that is additional $40.....

                    Pistons are cleaned.

Got these as well. These needs to go to machine shop for milling job.

Valves are removed from cylinder head, and was cleaned with Berryman, Chem-dip. But, only one can of that is no match for the head.

So, it is sent to an engine shop for better cleaning,,,,,

The head is back from cleaning.

It cleaned out OK. Not complaining for free service. They don't work on automotive engines.
But, I'm kinda disappointed with this head I got from JY.
One of EX valves is bent.
There are so much pits on valve seats, even on intakes.

                      More work/$$ is needed.

Cleaning valve guides with small round brush.

Gasket matching. Since I don't have machinist's blue, a Sharpie have to do the work.

                        Engine removal

                        Spare engine was never finished.
Got another 93 Accord. It is a sedan.

The engine of this Coupe is coming off for I don't know what I will be doing yet, if I ever do something to it.

I will take off some more parts off of the chassis and it will get crushed.
