Gates belt on the way. Tore down the h23a3 and it looks okay. Not low mileage as advertised but has been maintained properly. I can't find my crank pulley tool so at a stopping point for now. Need to get the head off and sent out for cleaning and valve guide seals etc.

I do remember the repaint, lol. from what I've heard for aftermarket timing belts, Gates is the next best thing to oem. there's also greddy belts, but I just haven't heard anything good about them. later.

I got a h23a3, which from what I have read is the same as the h23a1. Some people say it's an open deck design but that doesn't make sense and other people say it's an h23a1 but with oversized valves and 5 more hp. I was just looking for the closest thing to an h23a1 to drop in and drive. Not going to risk the belt. Will check the water pump when I remove it and see how it looks.

Really fucked my brain with discontinued maintenence parts! Never would have guessed a timing belt would be discontinued! All of these parts on my car were replaced during my build in 2008, and it has been garaged since 2010, I am wondering how much of this stuff I could reuse? Timing belt is 11 years old and probably has 2000 miles on it. I may need to post up and ask some opinions.

So I ordered a used Jdm h23a3 to drop in, turn down the boost and just drive the car again. Went to order some OEM Honda parts, so much stuff is discontinued! No timing belt or head gaskets for a h23! WTF? I don't like aftermarket for a lot of this stuff. Need a hood latch also, discontinued. I ordered what was available, will have to go A/M for the rest I guess. Next weekend I will start taking the turbo stuff off, maybe drop out the transmission and figure out what else will break.

Happy New Year all!
I took the accord out of the garage today, first daylight it has seen since 2012ish. Gave it a good wash, interior wipe down and vacuum. Looks okay for a neglected car that acted as a work bench for years. Brian you may remember when I painted the car (2006 maybe), it looked good at that time, but alas the rust is returning slow and steady. Tires are shot, clutch pedal is dead to the floor, need to replace the hood and fender from same incident as passenger window, one mouse nest in the trunk, dust and a million cob webs!

ebtec looks promising! They don't appear to tune Crome so switching to Hondata would be required but not the end of the world. As for the armrest, maybe? I actually don't recall ever seeing one on a 90-91. Will have to search around and let you know.

the scene does seem kinda dead, lol. I think it could be sparked back. say Brady, are you in need of a maroon 90-91 optional armrest? later.

So I have been looking for tuning shops and to my surprise it seems like this whole scene is dead now. Anyone know a dyno shop that tunes with Crome?
