Lee's 5 spd conversion COMPLETED **pics inside**

Well guys...I've been down and away for a few weeks now, but i finally finished my car. Heres the story...

so this summer, i decided to boost the car. I had a F20a DOHC...ran good for about 6 weeks, then motor went boom. Then i went back to the f22a4 SOHC and boosted her until December when my tranny went boom. What a perfect oppurtunity for a 5 spd conversion....nevertheless, i found a tranny locally and did the lude trick with no welding...I did a timing belt package, valve adjustment, couple paint mods, filled some mounts ( with home deopt polyurethane, not window weld) , and boosted her back up again.

car jacked up and ready to go

    bye bye gold valve cover

    stipped and ready to go

LX rear mount filled and painted

188 wtq + 15 year old rear automatic rear vacuum mount= ownage

crank kinda broke when i pulled the motor

sittin that motor in wasnt easy

4th gen prelude tranny mount, auto driver mount and LX rear mount/bracket deserves some celebration...nachos and hot wings

spacers under the drivers side mount

they measure about 3/8" and i used rubber washers to mate them to the mount/engine

    3 pedals deserves a shocker

    finished product

overall it took time and patience, but it was COMPLETELY worth it.
All in all, car runs good. Bugs:
~I have no reverse lights ( one reverse light stays on with the car on the ON position, and it is wired like CPmikes diagrams)
~i grind gears alot. It feels like the shifter changes because sometimes gears are easy, sometimes theyre not. If anyone can help out with suggestions, that be greatly appreciated. hope you enjoyed
special thanks to Fred, Dre, and Brandon (theTempest) who all helped with the swap!

Oh, btw....the tranny is a h23 5 spd with Quaife LSD i cant wait to break in the 6 puck clutch!

For the gear grinds your syncros are probably worn out. I replaced my tranny oil with GM SyncroMesh (an oil substitute for trannys) it got rid of my grinds after a short period of 200 miles.
$12 quart, I think we need 2 quarts for the F22 tranny. I would def. recommend it to anyone.
Congrats on the tranny swap btw! I'm getting an H23 tranny sometime very soon (I'm sending the guy payments, then picking it up in TN) and I want a Quaife LSD unit. Where did you get yours, and how much was it? PM me if you get a chance. Very nice work btw on the valve cover, I like the change alot. The gold was okay, but the (gunmetal I assume) makes it pop! Thanks again for any help with the tranny swap (tips, need new mounts?) Thanks! And of course the car looks great as always!

good to see its finally done.. gears are grinding coz you don't know how to shift a 5spd yet
it'll feel better once you add some GM Syncromesh.

Good job, Lee. The grinding...ACT clutches are asswhores when they are not broken in. It can be that, or you may still need to get used to your newfound Stick shift conversion.

Totally awesome bro, nice work, bet your luvin it! No wonder you haven't been around. Who is that wearing nice clothes on top of your motor? I found that amusing. Anyhow, keep it up. I really like that you seemed to used good quality turbo piping and clamps, it's the best quality setup I've seen...seems like you bought some good products. Most turbo setups I've seen look like they were quicky put together, then I hear people saying they popped hoses/etc on boost. Not good.

any prelude tranny with the 4th gen 5spd prelude tranny mount will compensate for the auto bracket almost all of the way, then you add those spacers on the driver side mount and youll be fine.

How long did it take you to do the whole auto to manual conversion and the spacers on the other side did you just use one 3/8" spacer per stud?
