The best ecu to run with the A6 motor is the rite ecu for that motor, there's no point in chippin ecu's for a stock motor

Once a cam is added and bigger Injecters, or even a upgrade msd kit for your ignition, then a chipped ecu will have its benefits, some 1 correct me if I'm wrong

Stock A6 Ecu is the PT6. And it can't be chipped.
You will need to use a P28 or PO6 for chipping

As above, chipping a stock motor, will have minimal gains, unless other work is carried out as well. Just remember that each time you add a new engine mod it will need to be rechipped to make the most of the mod.

A "Finished" project car is never finished until its been sold.

If at first you don't succeed, Try again. Don't give up too easily, persistance pays off in the end.

You will still be able to drive the car, Just you will be able to gain extra hp by getting it rechipped/remapped again.

The best way to do it would be to, do all the mods you want - intake, exhaust, cam etc THEN get it chipped.
If you were looking to go into more extensive mods - Full NA or turbo, then using a remappable ecu is the best option

exactly...thats why you get parts....sit on them until you have all the parts NEEDED and WANTED...then install...then chip...then tune.

it makes no sense to waste money..rechipping and retuning..by slowly putting on parts.

get all the parts...then chip and tune.

you want to do your tune while you're at a dyno session.

say for example...you got it chipped because you have a gutted H23 intake mani and 262 cam ( which is not much different than a A6 cam )..full exhaust ( engine back )..and you retard the ignition timing a little ...and you chip a PO6 ecu and get it tuned...

it will run to those mod specs.

now...if you get a bigger cam ( 272 or the huge 282 ) and get a higher rated fuel pump and injectors...the car WILL NOT run right...especially with that huge 282...be lucky if it even runs. But, with that 272...you will run RICH ...really rich..and you will lose power...might even backfire because of the wasted fuel. ( a fast way to blow out your cat )

then you get it rechipped and retuned...you will notice a HUGE difference in power...why, because now the rechipped ..retuned and remapped ECU recognizes the extra fuel being dumped in from the bigger cam lobes, injectors, and fuel pump.

IMHO, Id get all the parts...get EVERYTHING needed and wanted. THEN install...chip and tune.
