I just read through that discussion about Japan, and he participated in the conversation as well as anyone else did. One comment rubbed Matt the wrong way (and I know for a fact that Matt was very on edge, because he lived in Sendai for over a year, and knew many people that were caught in this mess...)

I see you attacking him unnecessarily more often than not... ever since the "germans are superior" comment he made (which I agree was idiotic, but if I recall, I came down on you for a racial comment shortly after that was said... so let it go.)

Where does it end? When you stop attacking him. If I feel that he is causing unnecessary trouble on MY forum, I will handle it. Otherwise, put him on your ignore list, or be a big boy and deal with it. I'd rather not have to ban 3 good members because of one troll... but right now, you guys are giving me far more reason to ban than the troll is.

I think I said this before in one of the 'end of the world' threads, but this planet will do what it's going to do and there isn't a damn thing no one can do about except for prepare for the worst. Don't get me wrong, the end result of most disasters are horrible and if this was indeed a perfect world, no one would have to go through but that's never the case...EVER.

I used to live in the same city as bullhorn so I can relate to the flooding issue, especially since my house was at the bottom of a hill. I can recall preparing the basement to prevent it from taking water, but there was a time when preparing did nothing as it flooded anyway.

Nope. Sandbagged and blocks in the backyard. It did its job but the water came from toward the front of the house underground. It ruined the drywall and soaked the carpet. We fixed it and haven't had problems since.

Standard sump pumps won't do anything. You'll be actively fighting a river.
What you'd need are a few of these. Even then you might be SOL

Man my basement floods everytime it rains but its just a crawlspace. We just let it flood now, it hasnt gotten up to the living area and it helps that we live on a hill so unless something biblical happens we should be alright.

Natural disasters are normal and help Earth balance itself.

Its like one of Geoffs posts being construed as unnecessary when its actually beneficial to the community.

Let him work at fitting in.

I really don't understand why everyone is turning a blind eye to this guy.
Why do you have to bother with reading his threads? And using profanity does not help brother. This is getting ridiculous. I'm more annoyed by complaining about foolishness than foolishness itself. This is an "off-topic" thread. In my opinion, anything off-topic would be free game as long as it doesn't turn into a flame-session, pornographic, racist, religious, or profane. If I see something I don't like I leave and don't pay it any more mind. Really brother, saying it's unnecessary, is just as unnecessary. If you do as deevergote said, and this is truly worthless, it will disappear. If Geoff is doing bad things and/or breaking rules eventually he will be punished in some manner.

If you walk around beating up homeless people just because you don't like them begging for change, maybe you'll get away with it for a long time. Eventually something will happen to you, whether it's cancer, getting hit by a car, a meteor falling from heaven and tearing half of your skull completely off.

Let people do what they want. Tell them it's wrong once or twice then ignore it. Just let them reap the foolish consequences of the foolish seeds they've sown. You tried to steer them in the right direction, so you already did the right thing and will be rewarded for sowing that seed. Call it karma, call it divine retribution, call it YHWH's judgement. It happens all the time. Just let the universe balance itself. There cannot be light without dark, there cannot be evil without good. Let it be, and stop stressing.

Also stop causing more problems than were already present in an "unnecessary" thread by posting unnecessary profanity and bashing. It's not helping anything. It's making you look like you're trolling a troll. It looks like you can' be the bigger man and just walk away from a fool being foolish. Are you really that hung up on Geoff? Seriously brother, I could care less either way, but if you jump in threads that serve no purpose and start serving up hate, what are you really accomplishing? nothing my friend. Not one thing is changed, it just makes that unnecessary and controversial thread that much more unnecessary and controversial.

Turn the other cheek, do not scoff a scoffer, etc. You really don't need to add anyone to your ignore list. Just use your own self-control and ignore it.

Only problem I see with Geoff is his misinformation. Other than that, let him have is opinions, let him say what he wants within limits. If I don't agree with something he says, or you for that matter, i more than likely will just ignore it.

Go ahead and make a thread that I think is pointless or makes me want to pop the heads off of kittens. I won't open my mouth. I'll hold my tongue and let your own life pay you back for what you've done. We need less arguing, less flaming, less hate. Much more turning the blind eye, more compassion, more peacefulness. Ignoring something really will eventually make it go away. I know from experience.

Also I'm sorry if I've offended anyone or caused problems with this post. But I'm a little bit aggravated by seeing this fussing every time Geoff makes a thread or says something. Want to argue? That shouldn't be a problem, but do it intelligently as a debate. If you can't then don't say anything at all. I cuss like a sailor, but I don't want to see threads getting penalized because other people have to throw in profanity and hate just because they can't stand someone or what they do. Mods, feel free to ban me if I deserve it by this post. I really want peace, not constant fussing and complaining. As I said before, I consider Geoff a friend, but he does get on my nerves with his misinformation. He does bother me at times too. But I don't cuss at him and call him useless. If anything I shake my head and say stop trolling and that's as harsh as I'll take it.

I've had someone insulting my religious beliefs on this forum. I still offered a smile and a joke. It's not that hard. Really, I used to want to kill people and cut them into pieces for not responding to a simple greeting or looking at me funny. I was Charles Manson and cannibal crazy. Now, I don't even care if you punch me in the face. It's not as hard as people think to just let go of things. I did it without the therapist, psychiatry, or pills that everyone said I needed. I did it with, get this, SELF-CONTROL. It's really that simple. It was not until I decided to practice it that I changed. Therapy, psychiatry, pills... they did not fix it, they sedated it. Getting rid of all those and practicing self-control... that fixed everything. No more violent thoughts, no more breaking things, no more fighting people, no more having someone talk me out of doing something that would put me in prison. Can't we all just have a little self-control? Seriously, the world would be such a better place. Perhaps we might end up having less natural disasters too. Since everyone's not shedding blood or hating on each other. Since people will actually help each other or turn the other cheek. Doesn't that sound nice?

Want to talk about natural disasters? Do it here. Want to respond to something discussed or pertaining to the information set forth within this thread? Go ahead, and if not, there is no reason to post in this thread. Fussing about things is much more a problem than someone making a thread that has no purpose. I like you Ralphie, but you're annoying me. I like Geoff too, and he annoys me sometimes too. Everyone annoys me with something, but I'm not going to put them down for it, I'm more likely to just overlook it.

Peace to all of you. Please continue with regular thread content.
There are much more natural disasters to come. Hate to break it to you guys. These are just "birth pangs." It's going to get A LOT worse. Global warming has nothing to do with it either. Its morals, its karma if you will. The further we decline the more you'll become familiar with death and disasters. Sorry folks, but it is directly correlated.

Do you have one iota of proof to back up what you are saying, or are you just voicing an opinion. Because it sounds like you are stating a fact, and facts need proof of some sort. There have always been natural disasters, and every time there is one, people start spouting off with the whole "It's the end of the world" BS.

I'll dig a natural disaster thread.

Aside from the tragedies, I'm amused/ amazed to see what power Earth unleashed. I especially love to see it fight against man-made materials becuase it shows how "inginuative" we could be (IE:building that could withstand earthquakes). Unfortunately, sometimes disasters could also show how weak and fragile we are.

                            In for pics.

Only time will show what's going to happen. That's all I have to say.

You could keep an eye on this for earthquake data. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquak...historical.php

Also, I never said it's the end of the world.

                                Here's a chart only including magnitude 6+
                                http://www.thehorizonproject.com/earthquakes.cfm
this is the data it's derived from
                                http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquak...al_mag_big.php

I do realize that as technology is improved and more sensors are built around the world the numbers will go up. However, just looking at 1990 and forward there is a jump. Also working off of my memory, I've seen more devastation in the last 3 years than the 10 before that. Unless the news just didn't care about people dying from disasters before.

As far as declines in morals? Seriously look at 1990s nickelodeon shows and compare to today. All the stars are getting pregnant etc and setting bad examples. Look at MTV. Look at this HORRIBLE reality TV garbage. The more we start accepting that being half naked, screwing everything, fighting people, stealing things just because someone is rich, etc. You can't sit here and say that you don't see more teenagers and children doing things that wouldn't fly 10 years ago. Since when is it ok to have ten yr old girls dressing like tramps? Why is it ok for women of any age to wear shirts with their breasts about to pop out. Another thing, if you look then you're a dog. I can't help but see it when you dress like a whore. Look at the 50s and compare their morals to today. We have been in a steady decline of morals. No need for a graph. Just look at history and then watch the garbage on TV today. Everything is all sex and violence nowadays. It's cool to sleep around with whoever you want apparently if you ask people today. What happened to only boning your wife/husband? Seriously, I'm guilty of a lot of these things, but that was before I came to my senses and saw how horrible it really is. Why are STDs on the rise? Why is so much crap hitting the fan? It's us guys, that's my take on it. Disagree if you want, I'm not going to judge you. I only judge a persons actions and not the person behind the actions. There's no telling what's truly in that persons heart. However, the increasing frequency of perversion and etc is all the proof I need to see that morals are going downhill.

edit: just had the perfect example come to mind.
Look at the prostitutes in Pretty Woman. Now compare to modern fashion. LOL 90% of women today dress like whores from the late 80s/early 90s. Most of them in MUCH more revealing outfits.

Oh, maybe I can't prove a direct correlation. However, that looks pretty odd to me. Distasters increasing and morals decreasing in a very similar fashion at quite an alarming rate.

edit2: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquak...ear/graphs.php more graphs, these don't show the large increase the other graph shows, however the data looks different too.
So I'm not close-minded at all. I do look into things, I just don't place much trust in any government organization. I still can recall much more disasters recently than in the past. And I actually watch the news a lot less now than I used to.
