When I had my exhaust decibel tested at the State Ref, I talked to someone getting their car barred and he said it's about $50/visit. Getting your car to be smog legal is another issue. Surprised Tim and Craig havent chimed in.

only charging for the certificate now?
when i did mine it was the same price as a smog check, about $40 and you get 3 tries to pass before you paid another $40 for another 3.

i believe ricardo (primesniper) only paid that price b/c he had a ticket to sign off. if a person didn't it's still about $40 to get the ref to do the BAR procedure on a car, pass or fail but like gary said (2.2litrebeater) it's for 3 tries.

as for the cost of the swap to legalize to pass the bar, it all depends on condition of your motor, catalytic converter, and if you have all and i mean ALL of your vac lines intact. edit: unless you have an aftermarket intake with has a CARB sticker on it.

When I went my first time I had to pay 38 bucks.

New cat should be here on Friday, and then off to the Ref to try again!

              Sold, but not forgotten.

Correction my buddy timmy - The cost is just $8.25 for the BAR cert. The referee was so cool that he gave me 2 copys. One copy for my registration and the other for officer Doofy!! W Covina PD fine was $436.00 then reduced to $25.00 for passing state referee

Air bypass valve? When I went the first time I had 191K on my oem cat. I hope this new one works better.

It's Air Boost Valve, actually the official name is something else, but you can use the one off the F22
