ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

Is it possible to put 9006 bulbs in highbeam?

I want to run my "high beams" on with my low beams but I don't want to blind other drivers. I like the look of having the full headlight instead of just squares also and I could use the extra lighting if there was any given by putting them in. Putting in LED's is also an option I guess too, I've seen Quashish's CB have them but I dislike the naked LED bulb in the daytime. Would I get more lighting if I were to be able to put 9006's in the highbeam and is it possible? I've never needed high beams personally ever so it won't be a problem not having them.

Its possible. But you will still blind people at night cause there is no shield blocking the front part of the bulb.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

You could completely Blackhouse the high beam bucket then not have to worry About using a different bulb at all.

Or do you want to change high beam to low beam and then kinda use your low beam bucket as the high?

Ohh yeah forgot about the Sheild. Could fab one up or unscrew it from the low and jb weld it in place in the high or something

It all makes sense when i look into her eyes

Completely off topic but since we are on the subject of high beams, anyone know the easiest way to run the high beams only without the low beams on too? Sort of like a DRL for the DA look.

Cut the wires going to the low beams and install a switch.

Keep in mind that high beams during the day is still annoying as fuck. DRLs are high beams run at low power, so they're not full brightness.

oops i apologize guys, I wouldn't intend to use 9005 bulbs. I would replace them for LED's which are not nearly as bright at all and wouldn't affect other drivers.

You could always drill new holes in your housings to mount small LEDs wired to a switch or relay. Then you could essentially have your LED DRLs without losing the functionality of the actual high beams.

Or find a DRL system from Canada(as they are required to have them) and install it into the existing wiring.

Now you're just talking nonsense, Ralphie! That would actually be the reasonable and effective way of doing it!

yeah i completely understand thats the correct way of doing it, but the kits get extremely expensive so i was lookin for a way to cheap out on it since its not really as important as suspension and such.

                        OP,

Not sure where you live but if you have to get your car inspected annually then you will more than likely have to have a high and a low. Might want to check into that first before doing anything too crazy.
