Turbo mani. used as N/A header...

Alright guys i was lookin in the latest issue of honda tuning magazine and spotted a picture of a crx with a N/A B series but it had a turbo mani. for a header? it was the ram horn style manifold, i thought it was pretty sick and am thinkin about doing this with my h22 build would make it custom to be 4-2-1 with a 2.5'' collector. any thoughts on this??

Well it'd look trick.. And the flow would be alright, but obviously not as good as a Bisi.

I'd support the idea for show, but not much else.. OBX designed the header for looks over flow i'm certain

the equal length and primaries concept is there, it would just depend on the down pipe.

yeah, im gunna try and design the down pipe so it will look trick and perform like an $800 header lol what would be a few designs to start with?

isnt the one shwon in the honda tuning mag the only design? there's log manifolds and turbos that mount on top but it's pretty much the butterfly right?

it most likely wont perform like a 800 dollar manifold but it will flow more than stock. stock just sucks balls.

IDK about you guys, my H22 JDM OEM header/downpipe is huge
Its got to be atleast 2"
I had to cut notches in the flange just to fit the tiny F22 cat on it.

larger runner diameter, longer primaries, and a 2.5-3 inch collector and i would bet it will do the same as a high dollar piece.

not the same but it would all improve flow.

How do you know it was a "turbo manifold", and not just a header with curved tubing? Did it have a wastegate hooked up to it?

i know it wasnt a just a header because their was a caption with it that said "check out the custom ram horn turbo manifold made into a non turbo header" lol and you can see the carbon fiber intake (pwjdm style) coming off the throttle body, im gunna have to go buy the magazine and take a pic of it and post it lol.

im gunna price it out and see how much it would be to costomize it, vs. buying a high dollar header

If you want a cool looking header get one of bisi's headers. You spend a lot of $$ making custom shit unless you do it yourself.
