ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

i beg to differ. when i was tuning my car with hondata i was getting high AIT"air intake temps" ...in the 140 range and after i relocated my filter to point down "close to the crossmember" my AIT's went down to the 106 range just that quick which resulted in better afr's and a more consistent boost

Was the car in motion at this time, or stationary?

of course i understand that he isnt doing the turbo thing .... it would still stand to reason that the colder air .. the better, and moving it away from the engine heat just a bit or using a heat shield would help

You want a dry filter. The filters that need oil have larger element openings and are dependent on that oil to attract dirt and trap it, which it does to an extent. But they dry out quickly and you end up with dirt passing through the larger element openings.

I like my Apexi power series filter, even after 10k miles on it when I replaced it the inside of the filter was very clean, a good sign. And my oil samples proved this difference. I have no clue of a relationship between AEM and K&N but I've read lots of reports on the AEM dry filters being great as well.

Another note about stock air boxes vs a short ram/CAI. K&N is OKAY imo to run in a stock air box. MUCH less dirt ever gets to the filter inside a stock airbox as opposed to a cone filter just sitting in the open. Start opening up/drilling holes in a stock air box and you change these dynamics. But for a bone stock car, K&N SHOULD be okay.....I have no proof of this theory but will fairly soon when I send in an oil sample from our CRV. It'll be a 10k mile sample of the oil and filter to really see how these "high mileage" interval claims play out.

I'll wait and see the results of your test otherwise i'll just stick with my NAPA gold filter.
