over the last two months i have had to change the oil filter was using fram cuz they were shooting oil out of a pin hole on the side....
just last night while at work had to do the same thing, was using fram...

this time paid the extra bucks and am going to try k & n

and hope i dont have this issue again

the fram filters are very thin metal compared to k & n and mobile

while at the parts store squeezed the different name brands to see how strong they are and the stp and fram were very flimsy....

so thats my experience with these junk azz filters....

Iv had one literally come apart on a small-block Ford V8 and ruined everything. And i had a friend who had a 3.8L V6 in a Grand National have the EXACT same thing happen to him.

So my vote... stay away. But im sure its like anything.. theres going to be bad and good.

That statement is correct, It is the reason why genuine filters are more expensive - They are not FRAM's design.
Seeing as it is built to Honda's specification, they are not allowed to copy it and sell it as a FRAM filter.

Similarly Honda 10W30 oil is not made by Honda, it is made by outside companies that make it to Hondas specification.
This applies to ALOT of things in a car.

In relation to that article though - That "New Smaller filter" he is talking about has been around for over 7 years.

We still use the OEM RTA filter today, the only exception is the Honda CITY, Diesel models, and old model Legends which require different OEM filters.
