This is my daily driver. I currently have a '93 coupe project too.
Bought this for $500, not running and undrivable. I had hit a low spot and needed to get into something quick.
Over the next year, I brought it back to life. It even made a trip to Salt Lake City last summer with my two oldest kids.
The timing belt had no tension and had slipped,(that's why it wouldn't run).
After doing a full timing belt job I immediately had to do the suspension the next weekend because every bump sent the car weaving.
I was told it had never been washed by the PO of 15years, (it was obvious). It took degreaser and 4 good polishings to get the black off, then several coats of wax.
All the glass was etched deep from the years of dirt. So I had to replace all the windows and windshield.
The interior was rotten. I put in seats from a 92 EX I found at pick-n-pull, then cleaned and treated the rest.
After that, it was in the garage every weekend for months.
What I've done so far:
Gatorback timing belt, balancing Shaft Belt, tensioners, seals, water pump.
Control Arms(upper/lower), tie rods, and all bushings, and good alignment.
New tires, 195/65/14.
New transaxles.
4 New hub & bearing assemblies.
New rotors, drums, shoes & pads
Converted and fully rebuilt A.C. system,(I live in Texas!)
Rebuilt distributor, (seals, coil & ignitor).
NGK wires and plugs.
Rear deck and taillight conversion to 92 sedan.
Replaced all seats with 92 EX's.
Stock EX muffler.
New windows, windshield and tint.
New power antenna.
JBL speakers, Pioneer Amp and Chinese 7" touchscreen stereo.
Future plans:
New shocks and springs.
New Rack-n-Pinion
