SUSP: Taking apart the ball joint-The easy tool-less way

Well I found this elsewhere on the web, tried it and it worked for me....
*You need suspension unhooked for this DIY*
What you do is take a 1/2 ratchet attachment...
put it inbetween the ball joint and rotor as such, *JACK UP ROTOR*

Then after that, let the jack down!

Kick down the rotor, and it will snap off, or should, it may take a few tries, or may need an alternate way.

I coulda forgotten steps but this was the easiest way of all

Meh, not feeling the honda game anymore.

no lol you kick down the rotor, with jack removed from under rotor :-\

lol and the tool placed where picture shows

Car should be on jack stands, I wouldn't use a jack to work on this type of stuff

what do you mean by kick down the rotor, like literally kick it down? so you would support the vehicle on jackstands of course, then use a jack to lift the rotor up, stick the socket in place, release the jack, then actually kick the rotor downwards?

Yes so that the ratchet attachment acts as a fulcrum to the blow downwards, then separating it.

Accord R33 posted this about a year ago. A good way, but a hammer on the LCA is still the best bet.

What I do except I jack up on the rotor a little bit, leave the bolt through the spring fork so it pushes down on the LCA a bit, leave the ball joint nut on at least 4-5 turns, hit the LCA @ ball joint a few times all around with a hammer and it should pop loose!

hammer doesn't always work. It's worked about 50% of the time, for me anyways.

that's why you're not supposed to hit the threads, even with the nut on it.
