Winter wheels are about the best investment you can make. Nothing compares to a good set of snow tires.

It's not so much the snow as the salt and/or sand they put down for grip on the roads. That, and you don't always know where the curb is in deep snow.

When I bought my CB7, the PO still had the winter tires on the 6-spoke EX-R alloys and gave me the summers with no rims. I was lucky enough to pick up an identical set of 6-spoke alloys for $100. I can rock the EX-R alloys summer and winter At the rates local shops charge for mount and balance, the $100 for the rims will pay off after two season swaps.

Also potholes. Don't want to have to replace an expensive alloy wheel!

I got some 15" steels with snow tires for the wagon... Although they are back home in MA. Not enough snow here in Asheville, NC to worry about it.

That's the truth! The last few winters DESTROYED the roads where I work. I tore through 3 different sets of alloys and did damage to my steelies.
