Yeah, I've got a pretty decent portable pro studio lighting setup. Two Alien Bees 320 W/s strobes, one White Lightning 640 W/s strobe, portable power supply, remote triggers and enough stands, umbrellas, softboxes and accessories to choke a T-Rex!
BTW, I say it's not clean because I'm a nitpicky, perfectionist bastard, especially when it comes to my own stuff.
damn nice setup.... ...two bad you live in Maine so you can do some photo time with my car.
but naw thats cool how clean you are with ur car i wish i was like that.
So, not much done to date on this thing (hitting two deer in a row hurt my mod funds...bad), but I've managed to gather some parts. Once the weather warms up some, I should be getting into a frenzy of installing. Here's some photos of some of the stuff I've managed to pick up so far this winter:
Konig Rated R wheels in 17x7 with a dual bolt pattern. As you can see, there was some curb rash that I've already sanded out. They came with two unmounted 225/45HR17 Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 tires with 8/32 tread left, another MXM4 mounted with a sidewall bulge on the back and a Toyo Proxes 205/40ZR17 that's all chewed up on the rear shoulder, also mounted. I just picked up another matching pair of Michelin MXM4's with 8/32 tread for $110 shipped. Please appreciate this picture as I nearly broke my damn fool neck tumbling down my basement stairs to go take it. My camera and flash managed to survive completely unscathed. My body, on the other hand, is a little the worse for wear.
I also picked up a black suede shift boot w/red stitching to replace the carbon fiber one that's shredding against itself:
A brand new JDM Accord Coupe emblem:
A Scosche 0ga dual amp install kit (I'll be replacing the signal cables with some higher quality ones):
A sport-style grille (since mine was broken, and I picked this one up from somebody local for $30):
A set of OEM fogs:
And a set of TSX projectors (still need to get ballasts and bulbs):
Completed:
Installed 2.25" stainless cat-back exhaust
Installed short ram intake
Installed Spectre Performance filter
Installed new plugs & wires
Replaced windshield washer reservoir (cracked on the bottom)
Repainted radiator core support
Installed rear upper strut brace
To be completed:
Install radiator & core support
Source & install hood
Install grille
Install new bumper signal light
Refinish Konig wheels
Mount Michelin Pilot tires
Source & install cam
Source & install adjustable cam gear
Chip & tune ECU
Install fogs
Retrofit projectors
Source & install projector shields
Source & install ballasts & bulbs
Source & install sound deadening
Install power & signal cables
Recolor interior (black & burgundy 2-tone)
Have lower door panels fabbed (I'm not that good yet)
Fabricate subwoofer enclosure & amp rack
Source & install suspension system
Source & install front upper strut brace
Rust repair
Repaint (thinking about candy purple)

Sprained my ankle, banged up my knee pretty good and took the chunk out of my finger as seen above. I almost went head-first into the concrete wall at the bottom of the stairs, and all I could think of was "dear God, please don't let me smash my camera into a million pieces."

Received my OEM fogs in the mail today. Man, these things are gonna need some work. The harness is in pretty rough shape. I may end up just rewiring the whole thing. The brackets are in good shape, but the lenses are pretty beat up, and it's going to take some work to restore them. Still, for the price, I can't really complain. Time to get to work!

Picked up a few more parts and wanted to give an idea of what's coming. At this point, though, I think I'm going to save up for a couple of weeks and track down a usable hood before I go buying anymore mod parts. First...
A couple of parts I had to pick up separately because I couldn't find a full set at the time...lots of polishing involved...
Also, I've got a can of VHT Nite Shades coming in, so I wanted to get my technique down before it got here. I don't want it to look ghetto or ricey when I tint my lights, so I wanted to see what it took to get a seriously smooth finish. It takes a lot of patience, and a lot of wet sanding, and a lot of polishing. I started with a spare amber corner light I had hanging around, and sprayed it with some black paint and clear coat, both out of rattle cans. My first go wasn't nearly as successful. I ended up with this:
You can probably see the orange peel pretty clearly. It looked like a golf ball in person. The clearcoat also sagged horribly on the next pass, so I was forced to sand the light down to plastic and start over again. I'm much more pleased with the results the second time around, although it's not perfect by a long stretch. There are a few dips in the finish about the size of the head of a pin, and one area of orange peel about ¼" in diameter. I feel confident, though, that I can get a basically flawless finish on my next attempt.

I'm going to tint the corners, bumper markers and tails. Not going that dark, though. As I said, all I had was some black paint, so that's what I practiced with. I could have done the same with some Rosewood Brown, but it's harder to see the smoothness of the results!
