ENG: Timing belt DIY VIDEO!
I found this on youtube of all places. Its for a T-Belt change on a 98-02 accord (F23 VTEC) but its basically the same as our F22s. Whats really helpful is it is a video of the DIY, so that may help some people see what's going on in real time, rather than seeing some blurry pictures.

np, this is by far better than anything weve had posted on this site about a timing belt yet, DIY-wise at least.
if anybody plans to tackle this job with the help of this video, the only thing i would recommend is to look into the following: 1. a crank pulley holder tool, if you dont have an acetylene torch 2. a real diagram of the timing marks, in any repair manual. this is very important, white paint marks arent accurate enough, learn where the marks are and how to line everything up perfectly. |

haha yeah im a loyal subscriber to Davidsfarm. Ever since I saw the cold start the 91 accord or whatever vid it was (he basically let a 91 accord wagon sit for like 9 months and it started right up!). haha that guy's pretty entertaining. But this is JUST what people need to actually see what's going on to get an idea of how to do it, so i figured i'd post.

I think it's funny that he said it has 2 timing belts. (one to control the oil pump
) The big one is timing belt only, the other one is balance shaft belt. The oil pump is driven by the crank shaft. I love it.oh and as for the comments about the lining up procedure. It's not that bad. and you don't need a service manuel. The cam is easy enough, point the arrow up and line up the two lines with the top of the head. The crank shaft pully has a line.. that lines up with the arrow (it sits at about 11 o'clock).. the front balance shaft has a mark on both the block and the shaft. line those up. the rear balance shaft is the easiest. Take out the bolt in the back and put a skrew driver in it. it's not a big deal.

Eric the car guy has a video for it. It includes the water pump and all front seals. Unfortunately it costs money. I'm going to keep looking. If I don't find anything I'll buy it and repost. But it'll have to wait for another 70k miles

No ETCG vids yet. I'm trying to get my cousin to buy one...
Anyway, copycats have popped up on facebook. Here's a 3 part series. Haven't watched all 3, and it's not our exact car.
