ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Hey y'all! New to the community

Name's Jevon, I'm from Georgia and go to college in Michigan, way up in the Keweenaw. My '90 lx was left sitting in the Georgia sun for about 7 years by a family friend not driven and neglected with clutch and brake issues (lost track of how many wasps nests we found in the thing, there was even one in the tail pipe), but worst of all, the previous owner painted it with a PAINTBRUSH!!

While on break from college last May I went home and went to work on it with my dad. Got the clutch, breaks, and gas tank done while there but didn't finish by the time I had to travel back to Michigan in June for work and school, so he finished it up himself and drove it to Michigan for me in December. Unfortunately, one of the cylinders died on his drive up here which we attribute to failure to replace the old spark plugs and wires.

Car's been running on three cylinders and burning oil ever since but I drove it very little this past semester. Never got to drive it while fully functional

Here's the list of parts replaced to get it back up and running:
    Clutch master cylinder
    Clutch slave cylinder
^(These two took the longest, we really struggled with bleeding the clutch to remove all air out of the system.)
    Brake master cylinder
    Front brake pads
    Front brake rotors
Repaired broken wheel stud on passenger side.
    Radiator
    Battery
    Timing Belt
    Serpentine belt
Gas tank (old one had a hole in it, PITA to replace!)
    Fuel pump
    Tires
    Windshield (old one cracked)
Snow tires (My school, Michigan Tech, was the #1 snowiest school in the country this year)
    Front bumer (damaged)
    Rear bumper (damaged)
    Driver's side mirror
    Radio
    I believe that's it, I'm sure there's something I'm forgetting.

I'm in the process of having an H22 swap done. http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=206654

    In the beginning:

My attempt at patching up my f up.

While replacing my air conditioning (front window regulator and motor), I torqued the left window bolt too much which in time ripped the nut out of the plastic housing on the window causing the window to go limp (I hate plastic).

So instead of buying a new window I decided to go the band-aid route using some JB weld and an old clamp I made in class few years ago but never use.

I let the clamp sit on it over night and revisited it in the AM
Putting JB weld up to the ultimate test!

Made sure I didn't eat ANY Wheaties prior to re-installation.

If I never mention this ever again then JB Weld passes the test!
