Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

    Please don't feed the spammers!

    Please do not reply to spam. If the spammers don't get a reply to their posts, they won't keep coming here. If you reply, they know someone is seeing their crap. Sure, they might have to sign up with 10 names and make 20 posts to get just one curious person to click, but that's all they need. If nobody responds, they'll feel like they won't be getting through to anyone and not come back.


    Also, anyone that uses this for the thread marker is most likely a spammer. They ALL do it, it seems. So, just stay away from anything with that symbol (unless the username is clearly an Accord owner!)


    I may start banning people who reply to spammers for a day... just to drive this message home. Everyone says "why, there aren't that many?" However, that's just because you can't see them... and the mods here are freakin awesome! There are 6 deleted spam threads on the first page of this section right now. You can't see them. I can.

    Yeah I seemed to notice that awhile back, seems kinda odd, but good for us though

      dont know if it is possible with the version of vbulletin but there is a way to setup a thread that all of the spammers just post into

        theres also a one touch spammer ban. It deletes every post they had and bans them with one click.

          Yeah, the new version will be coming soon. I've been afraid to damage the forum in some way by doing it. mchaley, who is the guy hosting this site for me, has devised a way to be able to play with the forum without doing anything we don't want... so when I get the time to do it right, I'll do just that!

            well theres also a spam filter that can be set to filter by keywords and numbers of posts, but if a real posts gets grabbed an admin can let it thru

              most things that you add to the forum are really easy and dont require knowing HTML in order o make the changes. however, all the installs have instructions on how to do it.

              the one touch spammer is a plug in. download the file, Go into the admin cp, plugin manager, new plug, select file, install. done.

                Yea this was put out a while ago about not replying to spammers.....then it kinda fadded i guess because the spammers did.

                Can we still report them by following the links?

                    I say see what the link is and use your judgment. If it looks like they're trying to spam an affiliate link for a legit company, go for it. If it's something like www.getcheaprxmedsviagrahoodiatoday.com, it's probably a low-level scam... and any sort of click activity will just show the spammers that their efforts are paying off. MOST of the crap we get seems to be along those lines... so most often, just ignore them.

                            Yeah, as long as you don't whore about it constantly, that's fine. When people have 0 posts and do stuff like that... yeah... delete and ban


                            With the "make money online" stuff, I do ask that you keep it low-key. If it causes a problem, it'll eventually not be allowed on here.
