when you add the ability to go 65mph, lights, signals, air bags, seat belts, etc, it'll be knocked down to ... 300mpg :P Still good, but if you gain an extra 5 lbs, you'll be in the 50mpg range

I think our modern technology has the capabilities to reach atleast 300mpg. Its just we don't utilize these technologies in transportation. Things like the 10-cycle radial motors and gas fume injection are some possible areas to investigate.

*we have a high mileage SAE racer at our school, it got 1250mpg in 1998!
