HAHA I got my first speeding ticket today!

I got it. Maybe I shouldnt be proud of it though, but I did.

I was going down Shawnee Mission PKWY which is 45 mph. I was doing 64, but once I saw the cop, I hit my breaks (mind you I have a $300 radar detector but had it on highway, not city, but it still should of went off.) Anyhow, he got me going 56 in the 45. I had my other cars INS. still in the car (from went I went to TN and forgot when I got back to put my cars INS in it.) and so he gave me a ticket for 1.not wearing a seat belt 2. going 56 in a 45 3. not proper insurance.

So I have 10 days to bring my correct INS to them, which I am doing. But my ticket is $30 for no seat belt and $100 for speeding.

yeah I said that too and I literally knocked on wood, and it happend today.

but there was actually a good reason I was speeding. My mom called me and told me to rush to her house to see if her bf's mother was hurt or somthing. My mom had been trying to call the house for almost 3 hours and Vera(her bf's mom) wasnt answering the phone (mind you Vera is almost 90) So I was rushing over there, all kinds of thoughts going through my head like, Am I going to walk in there and her be hurt, or even dead....stuff like that.

wow just 100 dollars for a speeding ticket? damn the cheapest ones here, a red light camera ticket are like 157. The most expensive one I got was $475, aggressive driving, that one hurt 8pts, and 2 yrs before that exhibition of speed, $473, that one hurt too, 8pts., and to make things worse, that was the night before my SAT's back in highschool lol.

Try taking driving school for the ticket, over here it's like 120 but it erases the 3 pts or whatever that ticket is, if its a civil infraction....so your insurance doesn't go up.

Ive gotten 2. Had a lawyer take care of one, the other was for like 12 or 14 over.

First speeding ticket last Saturday...in about 5 years.

$150 cop was abit of a rude dick but eh I'm not fighting it...because this year I turn 25 so my record clears right up.

Yeah, I thought the no seatbelt here in ks was 10 also, I guess not

and It sucks that I got the ticket, and he was being a total asshole!!! to me, and because my husband wasnt wearing his either he asked for all his info as well

to top it off, he goes "mam do these plates belong to this vehicle?"
I go "yes sir"
he said "are they registered in your name"
I said " Sir they are registered in my name and his (and pointed to luis"
he goes "do you have the registration on this vehicle stating it is in fact yours"
I said "sir, My registration is with my insurance papers, that I had left at home on my book shelf, I had forgotten to put them back in my car after I cleaned it from coming home from Tennessee"
He said " Mam, do you have proof you didnt steal this car"
I said "sir go look my plates up and then look at my drivers license, it will come up Nicole and Luis (enter my last name)"
He said " I will be right back, dont do anything funny"

I was like WTF

Do you really think I would steal my own fucking car......but I think that he was doing that because of all the stolen cars in kc, and my husband is hispanic......but fuck him.

and yes that was true, you can ask my husband, we laughed as I took off.

And when I was getting back on the highway, I hit 7500 rpms everytime, and I was like "watch Luis, he will pull me over saying I was agressive driving or some shit"

i probably got like 15 or 20 tickets i have 22 points right now on my license

I forget but in the 12 years of driving I think I've had maybe 3 or 4 speeding tickets. I'm lucky I havent been caught more times, but nowadays I almost go the limit, not like when I was 18
