With computers, I never put anything out of the range of possibility... I've had some STUPID stuff go wrong!
I'm running 3 excel spreadsheets, 2 streets and trips routes, 2 firefox browsers with tabs, 1 IE with tabs, outlook, and 3 folders... Now I'm missing that extra ram!
Time to order more! Just need to figure out my motherboard's specs... I want to make sure it can handle 1.4gb before I go and order an upgrade... or else I should just get another 512.

lol that sucks.Originally posted by deevergoteNow because I removed so many things from my computer, XP wants me to re-activate. I have no idea how I did it the first time!
I have the serial key sitting here, but I'm not sure if that's what it wants.
it knows what serial youre using, it just wants you to verify that its still a legal copy of XP. try letting it activate itself, it does it over the net. if it tells you it cant, click "activate by telephone" and call in. explain to the rep what happened and they will give you the code.

yeah - calling in usually yields good results.
About the PSU - I've had those problems and found it to be a PSU. Honestly, try to swap out the cheap stuff first. Cheap psu's can lose efficiency, etc and throw some weird errors. I'm just glad it wasn't the mobo or hdd :P
deev- look into the ram manufacturer. Most companies offer lifetime warranties.

Running really fast now, oddly... weird, since it's doing so with half the amount of ram!
