I can see where your coming from yeamans... i have seen a lot of really tacky car themed tattoos. I think if i keep it realistic and not animated it won't look tacky. Yeah someone will know i'm into cars when I pull up in a modded car but.... i'm not doing this tattoo for other people to know i'm into cars i'm doing it for me. Also i won't always be pulling up in a modded car.

I have a friend who i suppose to be drawing it up... once thats done I will be posting a pic of my idea. I really don't picture it looking as horrible as everyone thinks it will.

Get into Imprezas. Specifically the bug-eye ones. Then just get the entire bug-eye front end on your boobs. It'd look hot. Eric would love it. He told me so. RIght Eric?





Seriously, the best idea would probably be a collage. Sort of like my friend did with the last tshirt design, but more suited to your style (rather than the generic stuff he threw in there).

dont do glow in the dark! that ink causes cancer!, do a traditional style collage, that what im working on, just got a huge part of it done last night, do like skull and crossbones like said but make the bones pistons and the skull and spark plug, and throw in olike headers behind the pistons with flames coming out, ......orrrrrrrrrrr do a pin up, do a girl on a car pin ups are hot

Bigger is always better when it comes to peices like this. Your original idea is ussually your best bet. So when your friend draws it up and you don't like it, tell them. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO HURT FEELINGS, this things going to be on you for the rest of your life.

As for the idea, I'm all for. Tattoo's are for YOU, not your signifigent other, your parents, your friends. The idea for a side peice is a VERY nice thought, but here's where it gets tricky. At some point, you and Eric may decide to reproduce (god help us) and it may stretch out a bit. People will make it seem like its going to get totally distorted which is a wives tale. The only way it will get really distorted is if you gain a ton of weight during the pregnancy.

How much its going to hurt is relative to each indavidual. Some people can handle pain in spots better then others. I thought the pain over my elbow was the worst thing ever and I've had guys tell me it didn't bother them at all.

So to answer your question, you're obviously a turbo kinda gal. So incorporating that is important, the wheel is kind of a wack idea, cause thats going to stereotype what kind of cars you're into by the wheel that you chooes for the tattoo. Things need to be kept generalized, for example, there shouldn't be NGK on the spark plug garret on the turbo, so why should the wheel look like a TE37? The idea of the turbo pushing the air up is great though, the artist will really be able to work with that as the "wind bars" are going to make for a great background.

I like the Collage idea and thats kind of the idea i'm going or now except the items will be spread out a little bit more (but really not much... my side isn't that big)

To me the skull and cross bones thing is generic and those are the kind of auto tattoos i find tacky.

Thanks Mayberry. I'm definitely not worried about telling my friend I hate his idea if I do. Luckily we have that kind of relationship. Your right the tattoo is for me but if eric was completely against it I probably wouldn't get it. He will probably have to look at it more than me anyway :boing:

And no need to worry about the reproducing... that will never happen. And the pain i'm not really worried about. I kind of enjoy it in a sick sort of way. Its got this weird like releasing power to me.

I never really thought about the rim being steroetypical but your definitely right. I'll probably delete that from the idea. I need to add something else though. so far all i have is spark plug and piston.... what else could fit into that? Maybe keys?

Val, you know I have 4 of them. All in places that are well hidden. I know that's not the problem. I agree with Mayberry on the whole stereotypical thing.
I like the ideas you have, maybe once you show a pic of the drawing it'll look better than it sounds??(trying to picture it, but for some reason I can only picture some of it).. I dunno. I do know the one on my left leg, I drew out but with the input of the tattoo artist it became what it is now.
