NHRA Funny Car driver dies after qualifying crash.

I'm not a big follower of the NHRA, simply because of the lack of TV coverage that it gets in this area without cable . But today I had access to cable TV, didn't see it when it happend, but heard about it shortly after. Like I said before I am not a big follower of the NHRA but of the few names that I know and am semi-familiar with, this is one of them.

A great driver taken away while doing what he loved. Sad but I know when I go that is how I want to do it. RIP Scott.

    Scott Kalitta 1962-2008

I saw the vid and WOW what a crash at the end. Its unfortunate he simply became a statistic in regards to deaths in motorsport.

top fuel drag racing is one of the few motorsports i would never want to do professionally. That is just WAY to much power, WAY to close to me.

That was a rediculous crash though, he didn't have much of a chance. Hopefully he was knocked unconsious by the first explosion.
