New laptop help needed lol

ok I saved up some money and got a labtop before i go off to college. It a dell 1525 with 250 gb and 2 g ram. i think thats good lol. anyway it was only $499.

Anyway I now need Microsoft office? I was wondering if anyone had a copy or where im supposed to get it.

I have heard about this but I was worried. Like if i use it to write an essay can i save it and put it into a word document at the school? I didnt think they were compatible.

If your worried about it , save it on multiple formats. I used word 97/2000/XP format and never gave me issues.

i'm not sure how much a student copy goes for but i some girl sold my brother Office2007 or something for only 50 bucks cash and it wasn't even opened. so check CL like my brother did, maybe someone will be selling theirs.
