      Hmm...

Shame you couldnt get the diamond setup in #2, in #1. I like the ring style on 1, but the rocks on 2 look good.

      Ima hafta say #1. GL.

              My fiance only likes solitaires.
              But, personally I like #1.

Sorry to say NEITHER ONE. I used to be a Jeweler and still am from time to time. (certified in Diamonds and Gem Stones).

I would be happy to share the real deal if interested. PM me if desired...

To be honest, if it's only an engagement ring I would not go for #2....probably not even #1. Because then you have to outdo that when you get the wedding ring. I gave my wife something similar to #2 for engagement but with only one fat diamond in the middle instead of three.

Then I got a 3.5 carat wedding ring. Then she does like this

I'm my own significant other, so I'll reply.

#2 is more delicate looking. No girl wants a clunky ring, unless it has a freakin HUGE rock on it! I like the looks of #1 myself, as it's nice and simple... but it's rather bulky.

However, the 3 stone "past, present, future" design is a VERY "popular now" design. In other words, it's going to be a dated look in a few years. It's a nice look, but soon it will be out of style. It may not matter to you or your girl, but if either of you (especially her!) are worried about being up with the times, getting such a period specific design is a no-no.

A princess-cut solitaire is timeless, and will NEVER be out of style. Just something to think about.

The ring that I got for my ex was similar to the 2nd one, only with one central diamond instead of the 3. It was a nice design. Glad I got it back

I'm doing the whole engagement thing like here soon. EVERY time we go look at rings, I can NEVER talk her into a pearl ring AND necklace. I tell her for the price of an "inexpensive" diamond ring, I can get her a bunch of pearl stuff, but she doesn't think it's such a good idea... blah!
