    Hyundai Genesis.

Anyone seen it? I saw a few videos on Youtube before about it and for the past week and a half I saw it sitting out in front of the Hyundai dealership right by my house. I was like "is that the Genesis??" So I looked it up again online and confirmed. It's a nice looking car...for a Hyundai. Coupe is going to be V6 or I4-T

The coupe is taking over for the Tiburon. It's actually a very different car from the sedan.

The sedan comes with a V8. The coupe only gets the 6 or turbo 4.

The Genesis will make or break Hyundai. They've come to the point in their existance where they want to be true players in the market. They've been the leader of the Korean makers for a long time now, but they're still regarded as sub-par. "...for a Hyundai" always seems to follow any compliment given.

If the Genesis coupe and sedan succeed, Hyundai will be able to take that step into the big leagues. Future success won't be guaranteed, but it'll at least be an open door. If the Genesis cars fail in the market, or prove to be inferior vehicles, then Hyundai will secure their place as the leader of the crap-car market.

The first one or two years of a totally new car will probably have some bugs. The third year of this vehicle, if it's good, might REALLY be worth getting. The bugs will be worked out, and you can be sure that Hyundai has poured EVERYTHING they have into this. They could be taking a loss on each and every car. It would actually be worth the cost to do so.

I have hope. Back in the mid 80s, Honda and Toyota were viewed in a similar light. "Cheap Japanese crap... only good for fuel economy" They lasted. They gained a reputation. Now, not only are Honda and Toyota regarded as leaders in the automotive world, but their luxury lines have offerings that compete with the big-name mass-market luxo brands in quality, performance, and price.
I've said for a while now, Hyundai is where Honda was at 10 years ago. I said that 5 years ago, and I've noticed that they've grown similarly. Car and Driver's latest review of the newest Sonata said that it was about one generation away from being on par with the Accord, and C&D LOVES the Accord.

I'm looking forward to these cars, and if they turn out to be as good as hyped, I'd even consider one for a future purchase.

Hyundai(aka kia) have been trying ferociously hard to enter the "quality" market. The Azera and the Veracruz were there flagships last generation to test out the public's response. For them to proceed with the Genesis, and giving the Kia marquee the Borrego, they really taking a huge jump. I am a huge fan of the Borrego, beeing as how my folks have owned their sorento for the past four years, having no issues. The Genesis Sedan looks promising as well. But as for the coupe... I dont like the styling too well.

we can just sit back and watch what happens.

i have some exeriences with some early 2000's and the engine is alreight and body is ok. but the inside. everything falls apart.

and how is honda relibilty lately? i was told that they are not as good as the early 90's and such. do you guys think hyundini will take over the relibilty market if this car succeed?
