i've thought about living there as well. theres so much land thats why i think the housing over there is cheaper. i have a few relatives out there, thought about staying with them to see how it is to live there.

That is just the economy dude. Florida is considered a "tropical destination" and because it is so touristy, that makes the prices of eveything higher. Everything is cheaper in Texas. Not to bash Houston because I have never been there, but why not San Antonio? That is where I am trying to move

move to AZ and you wont have to worry about any natural disasters or bullshit like that, just the heat. Just look at what happened to people in Texas recently. Not dogging on Texans, but the weather they have isn't the greatest. They have floods, hail, hurricanes, etc. True, AZ folks have to deal w/ 115 degree temps, but thats what A/C's for.

Well, speaking from experience...Yes housing is cheaper there in Texas as a whole as oppose to say FL, CA, NY, MD, etc.

When it comes to the yearly taxes, that's when you will think twice!

No specific average on the yearly taxes, however, there is a wide range of it. From looking at buying a new home, and depending on the area, ranged from $8k to 21k.
