computer restore question

if my computer has been "restored to factory settings" am i S.O.L. as far as getting any files back?

either it set all of your settings to default

or..

reformatted your whole harddrive with the restore to factory settings

so your SOL. i always have a extra hard drive

the disc that came with allows me to completely restore my computer back to factory settings, and gives me an option to save all of my old files in one folder on my newly-restored hard drive, so i can pick and choose what i nneed then delete the rest.
