Looking at a 90 Civic Si

I posted this add on craigslist saying that I work on Hondas and such to acquire a little extra income. Anyways this lady calls me up and says the car has been sittin for 9 years. It was running when parked and now I cant get it to start. This thing looks fucking awesome on the inside and out. It needs alot of shit like a good cleaning, tune up, and such like that.

Ok so I really want this Si. Its got 158k miles on it and I know a hundred people with D motors and shit. What can I tell this lady to get her to stop wanting it? Shes buying it for a dollar from her friend and I offered her 500 for it if she got it from her friend. I tried telling her its going to leave her on the side of the road as soon as she got it running. I tried telling her all kinds of things that are going to go wrong but she wont budge. Any ideas?

Tell her you'll kill her. If not...I can come up with other ideas..

Sitting for 9 years? The seals are probably shot on that motor. If she doesn't want to rebuild or replace it, it's not going to treat her well. My 86 Accord sat for 2 years and it burns oil like a mofo. 9 years, anything rubber holding that motor together is a dryrotted piece of crap.

Tell her you'll put a new motor in it for her for $1000, or you'll buy it from her for $500 $1000 out of pocket, or $500 in pocket.... no brainer, unless she needs a car, and has a particular attachment to this one.

What about the car not having air bags? Safety is always a good convincing factor, IMO. Maybe that'll work.

Sneak over and take a bunch of parts off of it. She won't want it if it's missing fenders!

I already told her shes going to have to go through the whole motor to get it right. I was going to get it and put in a JDM B16a and call it a day.
