like what ever water they mainly stay in,you have to soak them real good first to get that taste out.There was a pond behind the house where I grew up,that was full of wild ducks,the water had a funny smell,because of all the stuff in it,run off from feilds and all the leaves and old branches and slime/moss back there,the guys who hunted them said they tasted like that water smelled unless you soaked them first in clean water with vinegar to get that out.
