Does this sound like a scam?

This guy on CL was offering his ipod touch for 45 dollars last week with a cracked screen.

and i was the first email him since the time i saw him post and the time i emailed him.

and so he said that there was 4 other people to offer him on the itouch.

and so i didn't want to bid on it.

and then he emails me back later saying the highest bidder backed out and if i still want it for 50.

today i sold my ipod and got some money and have enough for it so i emailed him

and this is what he wrote back:

Hi. You've all expressed interest in the iPod, all for $50. Including an interested party in my office, there are nine of you.

Not interested in a bidding war; just want to get $50 out of it.

I'm back in Des Moines tonight (it's now 9:30 p.m.). If anyone can meet me tonight, it's yours for $50. If not, it'll go to the first person I meet with the cash tomorrow.

I'm in SW Des Moines, near E 14th and Park (near the Hy-Vee). My phone number is 925-348-9447 (it's a Skype number; area code is Walnut Creek CA cuz that's where my mom lives). Or my skype ID is pfh12353.

I don't see how it could be a scam, unless he's looking to rob you when you see him... but the dude sounds like a dumbass.

there have been cases on craigslist about people buying cheap cars,or stuff and getting rods and beat the shit out of...so be careful.

lol. just the glass on the screen is cracked. but functions like normal.
