well as the title says it, i've got a new project car to work on. its an 86 crx, it's got the 1.5 carb motor. and to tell you the truth i know nothing about this car like what can be swapped into it and how easy it would be. i got my hands on an ls b18 for 100 bucks. so my question would be how hard would it be to put in and what all will i need to wire it up besides the wiring harness and ecu? any help is appreciated. ill get pics up soon... i hope

i might be wrong but i think the fseries is a easier swap.

Parts from the 1st gen Integra interchange with the CRX. The engine and trans are a good swap, and the rear axle (yes, rear dead axle) with disc brakes will swap onto the CRX as well, as do the bigger front Integra brakes.

Of course Hasport makes the mounts and axles if you want to swap more current B-series engines in.

It's probably a D series in disguise. That's why I wanna see the serial number to see if it's legit. Otherwise, he got a discount on a stolen turd. I know guys that will actually change the engraving on the block to say "B18" when it used to say "D15". You can buy those engraving kits for like $30.

well the b18 plans fell through. i lost the guys number but how hard is the f-series swap? i cant find mounts anywhere. the only thing ive been able to find for an 86 crx is the b-series mounts from hasport

F series is way more money and not supported as much.

if it was up to me, id throw in a D16z6 and turbo it.

yea after we have went over and talked to a few people, were gunna put in a d16y8 in for now and through a lil boost to it. and eventually will get swapped to a b18 for the track

well it's been a few days... and we still have the 86. were thinking about just rebuilding the carbed 1.5 and changing up the carb on it. but the other day my roommate traded his 88 s-10 drag truck(which still needed to be put together) for a 90 crx with a b18b1 swaped in. the car had sat for about a year because the guy thought the motor was messed up. but all it ended up being was a thermostat guage. so the night we got it he wanted to run em with my accord, so we went to a back road and done 2 runs both from a dead stop to 90. i got him outta the hole each time and held a half a car the whole race. i thought i was gunna get my ass handed to me haha. but plans for the 90 is to rebuild the ls motor and turbo it. ill get pics up this weeked cause i got to get some up of my car.
