I been out of the computer thing for quite some time, used to know all this stuff and now i dont. lol last system i put in was when xp just came out.

that is ram that im planning to get for my computer. My motherboard is kinda weird and it only supports 3 banks of ddr memory, however i cant use dualsided ddr in every bank. so im aiming for just 2gb(cause thats its limit) but it says for the 128mbit motherboard specs
128mbit(4mx8x4) banks
128mbit(2mx16x4) banks

memory config:
p4 board.
only 2.5v
cannot support double sidedx16 ddr memory


slot 1/slot 2/slot3

d/s/s
d/d/x
d/x/d

s/x/d

s-single sided
d-double sided

will that ebay link work, if i just use those 2 1gb modules?

As I see, it should work just fine.

Use the d/d/x config when you put it in. Most DDR mobos are like this.

thanks, do you think thats a good one...or should i go to new egg...they are like 70 bucks for 2gb pc 3200.

im bout to upgrade this chip to, its a 1.8a northwood. Im going to the max that this board can do which is 3 ghz hyperthreading lol...kinda pathetic for whats out there.

Order from Newegg.com and order your type of ram at the lowest cas latency possible. That'll speed up ram read/write speed. Just find your type at the highest supported frequency (233mhz, 333mhz, etc), find the largest supported stick, and with the lowest cas latency. That's the best you can get.

the only difference i see is that it is 2.6 volts, would that make a difference? I was able to shove it in and get a boot but after the boot screen it says there is a problem lol. I always wonderd why this one wouldnt work, it looks the same too.

i know it says latency is 3 but the other ones that are like 2.5 and such the voltage is 2.6.

They're both the same type. Make sure your pc needs DDR 400 (PC 3200), 184-Pin DDR SDRAM. If it didn't fit, try it the other way. If it still didn't fit (check motherboard to double check) then it's not going to work. Your type may have 1 groove, or key. Other types have 2 so it depends.

The .1 volt difference wont matter.
