    Ugh oh

I think my front motor mount is on ugh backwards lol.

Is this possible? Maybe that's why my car jumps from rev to drive?

The front mount is only a torque mount. It doesn't hold anything up. It simply keeps the engine from moving too much. Most turbo guys remove it completely.

yeah my engine jumps when I change from reverse to drive or vice versa.

It really doesn't matter, even if it can be backwards. Check the condition of the rubber. If it's torn, that would explain the engine movement. Check the condition of the other mounts as well. A bad rear mount is often the biggest cause for engine movement.

            Then make sure they're tight.

And look through the Members Rides section for good engine bay shots that show how the front mount should be in there. If you're afraid it's backwards, compare it to one that's right.

The front mount will allow for some engine movement if it's not installed correctly, or if it's broken... but it shouldn't be so much that it's a problem.

I really think im going to post a video of it doing it. I mean it's bad could suspension or something of that nature effect jumping because before when I was in reverse it would sound like metal rubbing against metal.

              thanks deev

How do you mean, it's in backwards? like the big part of the mount is on the bottom and the small part is at the top?

When I did my motor swap, before we put the front mount in, I was revving my engine just to make sure everything was working and had no check engine lights, with the front mount out, my engine barely moved

civics only use 3 important mounts. so the front one for ours isnt really needed.

That's because Civic motors don't produce enough torque to really need more than 1 or 2. Haha, I keed, I keed!!

your front mount doesnt really matter. Most guys run without them. If you have all new mounts then one isnt installed tight. Did you put these mounts on?

Yeah I thought it was the rear mount so I Changed it. And then the side mount was like broken so I changed that too.

But idk I had a shop check it out and he said it was the front mount. I told him you really dont need the front mount and he said it was the front mount.
