What you need to do is "muscle failure". Work out a muscle group until you seriously CANNOT move them anymore, hence 'muscle failure'. When you do it I'll bet in a couple sessions you'll gain 1/8-1/4 inch, no joke! And you need to stretch man, or course you're sore, you probably didn't stretch enough beforehand. And I'd recommend taking creatine. You can get it at GNC. Its like weak steroids but no side effects! It will def help Oh and your protein bars! Protein is required to build the muscles! A protein shake is a good way to do it, but I just used protein bars. Look for which one has the most protein. More protein=prob tastes nastier, but The ones that really taste good have lower protein content. And as for food, skinless chicken has probably the best high protein/low fat combination. Beef and steak have protein but they're high in fat. Fat is a no-no if you want to work out, it will work against you!

Lift every other day, then do cardio on your off day. If you want to get big, and have more stamina, then I reccomend Creatine. You just can't lift waaay hard or your muscles will rip off the bone though.

When lifting, just start with the large muscles first. ie. Pectorals (bench press), or hamstrings (leg press or squats).

If you want to increase your muscle size, do low reps but high weight, and if you don't want to get huge, then do about 8-12 reps with a lower weight.

You know a weight is too high for you if you can't do more than 12 reps.

Hope all of this info helps

I go to the Athletic Club...Ive been going there for about 2 years now, eery single day...the trick is to switch from leggs to upper body/abbs from day to day, so you can have a faster recovery period. Now when I started going I was about 189lbs (@6 feet tall) and had a boday fat analysis done...16%. I am currently, as of 2 days ago, 213lbs and only 5.3% body fat. For a while I took NOX2, a Myodulator Support system, masically a body building suplimen that is the closes thing to a steriod without actually using steriods, now it is complete useless unless you take protie with it. I use Interactive Lean Gainer...kind of expensive, but i guarentee you will see results...but you have to be very serious about it...I am pretty diehard...and a ew other specs...
Max Squat:700lbs even, can't break it
Max free weight bench press: 265lbs, can do more, but it hurts a lot, lol
and max bicep curl...if i try really hard i can do it once...65lbs
Thats what i got from about 2 years of pretty hardcore workout...pm me if you have any questions at all man, I'd be more than happy to help you...I used a personal trainer for the first year, but I know most of it now...so feel free to ask...PEACE!
If you can't hear it before you can see it...It's not worth it.
The Pop Tarts guy says: BAAAAAAAAAAYUM!
But Lil' Jon says: YEEEEEEEEEEEEAYUH!...and OKAAAAAAAYEH!
