no, its a blanket pay in all branches.

      but whatevs

also, i hope you had near perfect grades to get in to osu...they are a hard school to get into.
my fiance went there, and some people she knew had 3.0+ gpa's and were denied entrance.

best of luck in whatever you do, but army is going to be the worst thing you could go into. honestly.

Man you guys are mean.. lol

I'll agree with the AF being more aligned toward helping YOU as much as you'll help them. My dad was AF, and my cousin is currently in the Army. He's only been in 3 years and has been in some pretty bad shit. Finally told us how many times he's almost been blown up. Watched his buddy die.

Go talk to the other services. Your on a scale. If you go in after high school your an E-1, all services use the government pay scale. If you have some college you can get maybe an E-2 or if you are an Eagle Scout they can give you E-2. Someone correct me if you are wrong, buy it you have a college degree you can enlist as an E-3 or E-4 i forget. It's the same eveywhere.

Harsh, maybe. This guy is thinking of making the worst decision possible given he wants to enlist. If I had time and really cared about all the people enlisting, I'd sit in front of the Army recruiter's office with a sign for the Air Force.

BRO, go talk to the AF and CG. I did what you want to do. And I changed my mind and am probably alive now because of it. If not, I'd probably be beatin' my feet over in Afcrackistan right now.

This is a very true statement. Soldiers in the Army are really getting the shaft on deployment cycles versus the Air Force or Navy even.

I'm in the Air Force right now as an officer (went to college, did ROTC for four years, graduated, commissioned, getting paid really good money) and there are nothing but GOOD opportunities out there. There are other ways to become an officer if you want or you could easily enlist and then become an officer.

                  http://www.militaryfactory.com/military_pay_scale.asp

That's a link to the BASE pay scale for all services. An E-1 in the Air Force makes the same pay as an E-1 in the Army, Navy, etc. That doesn't include things like BAH (housing allowance), BAS (food money), or special pay (flight status, combat pay, high risk, etc.). But what isn't factored into that is quality of life. Go to an Army base, then go to an Air Force base and it's literally night and day difference between housing, facilities and all that. Telling ya man, look into the Air Force. They have "free school" as well, you just have to qualify (same is in the Army and all other services).
