    Banks

Closed my bank accounts with a local bank and looking for a new one in the Northeast. So far I've narrowed down to TD Bank or Citizens.

I have BOA which I use for misc spending and bills, with their fees and such I'm thinking about closing this one too. Anyone have experience with either or can suggest another?

    I am looking for...

TD just merged with Commerce Bank up here (well, it seems that they just bought them out, though they call it a merger). Commerce was great, but I haven't been happy with TD at all. I'm giving them a little time, figuring MAYBE their issues are due to the cumbersome transition... But I know TD lost a LOT of customers in the past few months.

That's primarily for standard banking, though. If you're just looking for savings and investments, TD may be better. I've been looking into getting a CD, but something tells me I'll find a better rate elsewhere.

You don't have to like what he did, but I would hope that you can appreciate the time, money and love that went in to the build. If you can't, you're not really an enthusiast, just another dumb kid with a car.-visualpoet

I have chase, I hate them. Commerce Bank and WAMU were the best banks I think, too bad they died.

My boss uses PNC. I've heard no complaints, nor have I ever had any issues with receiving or cashing the checks she cuts me (they're sent automatically to me when she sends it online) I've heard some complaints about fees there, though (from other people)

I'm still not sure if there ARE any good banks out there anymore!

find a local CREDIT UNION and you will never go back to a bank AGAIN. the credit union is literally there for you and was formed from a group of people for the better of everyone. generally they have some of the best rates, and for sure they all carry free savings and checking accounts. they also have every service and MORE then normal banks like chase, wells, and so on. their fees cost less and they will refund them no problem if you ask. also 90% of the services and products they offer are at no cost to you. they are extremely helpful not matter what, and they are really there for you. if you want some info about them i will gladly answer them for you, as i am in the banking industry.
