Well I can say this legally... Meeaning I have room to talk... I have been working on my sleeves for almost 3 years now as they are slow works in progress. I have had office jobs for the past 8 years and also owned my own shop for about a year. I currently work for the nations oldest and largest telecom co and I make roughly 40k a year right now but am on target to make close to 55k this year. I don't have any offensive tattoos but I would never come to work in a short sleeve shirt either unless it is a weekend. Oh and I just started this job in sept.
Konig at least you got something you enjoy and if this is the area of your life ( meaning Honda motor co ltd) that has impacted you enough to make it permanent then that is all good. Btw- negative space graywash is easy to cover up or change up and add too so it will blend with more pieces all though a nickels worth of free advice- plan your tattoos out so they will flow together on your arms - instead of creating patchwork quilts. A good sleev requires an eye for skin tones, contours and color variations... Along with tasteful pieces that flow together...Black and gray always flows almost fluently no matter whatLast edited by da9b16; 01-22-2010, 02:49 AM.

And when a company pulls that kind of stuff, you get a lawyer (unless you don't understand how the legal system works) and you press charges against the company. The courts will most likely side with the private party than the business. Companies think they can do what they want because we as employees allow it to happen. If we truly knew our rights as employees companies would realize what happens through discrimination. Sadly enough, we don't know most of our rights as employees. However that still has nothing to do with being tattooed, considering you are referring to duties of your job. There are MANY MANY MANY MANY laws and statutes protecting every worker from discrimination in the work place.
PS. Legal card carrying medical marijuana patients are not required to submit to a drug test in the occurrence of an accident in the workplace at Lowes. However, non- medical marijuana patients are subject to a drug test. Discrimination is real and it still happens in some places, but that does not mean that it is anywhere near being LEGAL. Byyyyyyyyye
By the way William, nothing you said had anything to do with tattooes until the last two lines. You went like this.... A + B = 7 no matter what. And that kind of logic doesn't work. But nice try.Originally posted by WilliamW View PostDid you know that in most contracts of employment, there are clauses that they put in there that give them the power to do whatever they want? Every employer has them. They usually reads something like "and any other duties required." Along with that comes "you may be fired for any reason." These things are just ways to discriminate. It's very real. I'm a mechanic but I have to do bull shit jobs some times because it falls into "any other duties", I'm not a janitor, or a fork truck driver. But I still have to do it. In the same way they can fire you because...... (insert excuse here). They just may think your a crappy person. You could do the job fine and be WAY more qualified for it than the next guy, but the way you come off just makes them want to fire you. So they do. Your just looking for justification for your tattoo but have meet up with unexpected "OMFG WHAT THE HELL!" comments. It's not what you want to hear, but it's about what your going to get anywhere you go. I'm leaving this thread, Good luck.Last edited by gcvphoto; 01-22-2010, 12:58 PM.

You're so smart... maybe you should go to law school and become a lawyer.Originally posted by gcvphoto View PostAnd when a company pulls that kind of stuff, you get a lawyer (unless you don't understand how the legal system works) and you press charges against the company.
