    Which GPS do you rock?

I'm in the market for a GPS unit. Never owned one. Most people I talk to, say to stay away from Magellan. Others, say to not bother with Garmin. I would like to get two of the same units, one for Violet's CRV, and one for my truck. Then when I do drive the CB, I can take it with me. Neither of my parents has a GPS either, my sister's the only one and it's a tomtom. She says she hates it.

So now I'm stuck. I'd love to hear some feedback, I thought they're pretty much all the same? I guess I don't know that much about them...

I live with my GPS, since I always travel. I am very happy with my Magellan Roadmate 1470

I own a Magellan, Garmin nuvi and the Iphone map app.

I bought the Magellan ($120) as a gift for my mom and for the price, It's damn good. Tons of point of interest, predictive text, detour routes, and simple A To B instructions.

For myself I have the Garmin, probably the best thing I bought for the price. $30 ( don't ask how, I know people >_> ). It's retail price goes for $200 and I would stay buy it. Has cool features, like keeping your travel info( time stopped, average speed, and top speed ). However, I do think that its a bit disorganized and the lack of having a QWERTY layout, boo.

The Iphone map,... no, just no.

What about tomtom's you guys? I guess I trust my sister's judgement, she travels to the midwest and down south a lot, uses her's wherever she goes. It's an XL something I can't remember but she told me. They're cheap, does anyone have any experience with them?

EDIT-I'm also looking at the Magellan Roadmate, the one with the 3.5" screen.

                    nuvi 265W with bluetooth. ($165CAN)

Never thought it would be as handy as it is. Thing finds everything!

I don't have experience with magellan/tomtom, but know plenty of people who swear by Garmin.
                    RIP
